Khalifa International Stadium Hosts the 4th Edition of AIPS Awards

The International Federation of Sports Press, in cooperation with the Sports Media Committee in Qatar, organized on Sunday 12 June at Khalifa International Stadium the fourth edition of the International Federation of Sports Press Awards.

The fourth edition of the awards was held with the participation of the largest gathering of sports journalists from different continents, as the awards are the largest and the highest appreciation for journalism, through the diversity and categories assigned to it by the international organization concerned with sports press affairs.

The 4th AIFS Awards feature the best sports storytellers across all media platforms, from photography and video, to print, digital, podcasts, and sports blogs.

The International Federation of Sports Press, as a recognized international platform, with a wide network in more than (161) countries around the world, looks forward to promoting sports media creativity, honoring its professionals, and encouraging them to continue producing the best and most creative content around the world, in line with the role that sport plays as an important tool for education, culture, and peace.

The AIPS Awards are a celebration of sports media excellence and open new horizons for sports journalists from around the world.

The first edition of the awards ceremony was held in January 2019 in the Swiss city of Lausanne, and the second edition of the ceremony was held in February 2020 AD in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, while the third edition was held in Vigevano Castle, in Italy in March of the year 2021.

The International Federation of Sports Press Awards is held in partnership with the Qatar Sports Media Committee as part of joint efforts to protect and promote the integrity of the profession.

The awards include several categories of journalistic work between a journalist, reporter, photographer, writer, and photographer, in addition to the best descriptive articles, the best opinions, and awards for documentation, audio, and video.

The International Federation allocated awards to the category of young reporters by giving them the opportunity to obtain a scholarship and press coverage of sporting events at the international level.

Mubarak Al Buainain, a member of the Sports Media Committee in Qatar, expressed his happiness at Doha hosting the largest gathering of sports journalists in the world, through the International Federation of Sports Press, noting that the continuation of the Federation’s awards despite the Corona pandemic in the past period had a great impact on the cohesion of the sports press by establishing many One of the events in partnership with the Sports Media Committee in Qatar.

Al-Buainain stressed that the Sports Journalism Awards ceremony is an opportunity for journalists to highlight Qatar’s preparations for the largest sporting event in the world, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is being held for the first time in the Middle East, noting that the venue for the ceremony at Khalifa International Stadium has many meanings, the most important of which is that in A global sports area, which is the world-famous Aspire Zone, in addition to being the oldest stadium in Qatar, where many historical sporting events have been held at the global and continental levels.
