Morocco Beats UAE in the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 Semifinal

Morocco booked its spot in the final of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 with a commanding 3–0 victory over the United Arab Emirates in the tournament’s first semifinal on Monday, December 15, at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.

The Atlas Lions took control of the match early, breaking the deadlock in the 28th minute through Karim El Berkaoui, whose well-taken goal gave Morocco an advantage they would never relinquish.

Morocco extended its lead in the 83rd minute with a goal from Achraf El Mahdioui, and Abderrazak Hamdallah sealed the victory deep into stoppage time with a goal in the 90+2nd minute, completing the emphatic win.

The UAE had reached the semifinal after a dramatic quarter-final penalty shootout win over defending champions Algeria, highlighted by standout saves from goalkeeper Hamad Al Meqbaali, but were unable to break down Morocco’s strong defence in the last four.

Morocco had built momentum throughout the tournament, advancing unbeaten into the semifinal after topping its group and defeating Syria 1–0 in the quarterfinals.

The victory sets up a final showdown later this week in Doha, where Morocco will face the winner of the second semifinal between Saudi Arabia and Jordan at Al Bayt Stadium, with the title on the line.
