Qatar to Host Finals of Gulf Club Champions League on These Dates

The Arab Gulf Cup Football Association has officially confirmed that the city of Doha in Qatar will host the final stages of the Gulf Club Champions League for the 2025/2026 season. The decision follows a review of hosting requests submitted by three competing clubs: Zakho of Iraq, Al Rayyan of Qatar, and Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia.

According to the tournament's regulations, the hosting rights were assigned to Al Rayyan. The club's submission was deemed more complete than that of Zakho, and it secured a higher ranking than Al Shabab, having topped its group with more points compared to the Saudi side, which finished second in its group.

The Arab Gulf Cup Football Association has designated two prominent venues for the knockout rounds: Ahmed bin Ali Stadium and Khalifa International Stadium. The schedule has been finalized in coordination with the Competitions Committee and the Marketing Department.

The competition will conclude with a single-match format for the semi-finals and the final. The semi-final matches are set for 19 April 2026. The first match will take place at Khalifa International Stadium at 5:00 PM between Zakho and Al-Shabab. Later that evening, the second semi-final will be held at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium at 8:00 PM, featuring Al-Rayyan against Al-Qadisiyah.

The tournament will culminate in the final match on 23 April 2026. The decisive game is scheduled to kick off at 6:45 PM at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

The Competitions Committee of the Gulf Football Federation approved the single-match format during a meeting last week. The Federation affirmed its commitment to organizing the final rounds to the highest technical and organizational standards. Officials stated that the goal is to reflect the prestige of the Gulf championship and enhance its competitive value, thereby fulfilling the aspirations of Gulf fans. The Federation continues to coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure the edition befits the history of Gulf football and reflects the spirit of fair competition among the participating clubs.
