The stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to the 54th edition of the Amir Cup as Al Gharafa and Al Sadd have secured their spots in the final. Following intense semi-final matches on May 5, 2026, the two giants of Qatari football will face off on May 9 at the Khalifa International Stadium to contest the championship title.

In the first semi-final at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, Al Gharafa and Al Wakrah engaged in a tightly contested defensive battle that ended goalless after regular time. The match featured several close chances, including a powerful save by Al Wakrah goalkeeper Khalifa Abubakar in the seventh minute and a near-miss by Al Gharafa's Yacine Brahimi in the 14th. Both sides created opportunities in the second half, with Al Gharafa hitting the crossbar in the 53rd minute and Al Wakrah having a late goal disallowed for a foul. The deadlock was finally broken in the penalty shootout, where Al Gharafa emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline to book their place in the final.

The second semi-final at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium saw a much more decisive result as Al Sadd dismantled Al Duhail with a 4-1 victory. The record-holding club, boasting 19 titles in the competition's history, started strong with Akram Afif scoring in the 10th minute after a rebound from a saved shot. Rafa Mujica doubled the lead in the 24th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Afif.

Although Al Duhail managed to pull one back through Boukary Soumare in the 55th minute, Al Sadd regained control in the second half. Substitute Hassan Al Haydos restored the two-goal cushion in the 82nd minute, and Akram Afif sealed the win with a fourth goal in stoppage time, assisted by Paulo Otávio.

The upcoming final promises to be a marquee matchup between two of Qatar's most decorated clubs. Al Sadd, aiming to extend their historic dominance, will take on Al Gharafa, who fought their way through a grueling penalty shootout to reach the decider. The match is scheduled for May 9, 2026, at the Khalifa International Stadium, where fans will witness the crowning of the 2026 Amir Cup champions.
