The UN is Opening its Official House in Doha

A preliminary administrative agreement was approved for the establishment of the United Nations (UN) House in Qatar at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. 

In 2021, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Hamad Al Thani announced the establishment of the UN House in Doha after the country's capital was recognized as the regional hub for multilateral action. 

On March 1st, 2023, the preliminary administrative agreement was accepted for the opening of the UN House in Doha, Qatar. The International Labor Organization, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization, the UNESCO office and some other organizations are some of the offices that will make up the 12 offices at the UN House in Doha.

The agreement was finalized as a result of the notable relationship of the State of Qatar with the international organization, which includes their close collaborations and partnerships.
