The Orchard & Grand Cruise Terminal Listed as Best New Ways to Travel

The Old Doha Port's Grand Cruise Terminal and Hamad International Airport's (HIA) Orchard have been recognized as two of the 'Best New Ways to Travel' in 2023, according to luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.

The 2023 Hot List puts the spotlight on the most exciting new openings in travel, from the freshest airport terminals to exciting train and air routes.

Qatar's latest two additions were launched before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The Grand Cruise Terminal has an impressive capacity to host two mega-ships simultaneously, with a capacity to welcome 12,000 passengers per day. 

"The building's sand-colored façade features rows of repeated arches, creating dramatic contrasts of light and shadow," the magazine said. 

The terminal also includes an art gallery, an open-air rooftop terrace, and an escalator for arriving passengers that pass through a vast aquarium before emerging out in the open.

Meanwhile, the Orchard is an extremely impressive airport expansion project. It is a 60,000-square-foot atrium garden with over 300 trees and more than 25,000 plants at the newly expanded HIA in Qatar.
