Qatar Grand Prix Set for Late November in 2026 F1 Calendar

Formula One has locked in its 2026 race calendar, and Qatar is once again on the list. The Lusail International Circuit will host the Qatar Grand Prix from November 27 to 29, 2026, placing it toward the final stretch of the season.

This race will come just one week before the season wraps up in Abu Dhabi on December 4-6, keeping the Middle East at the center of F1's grand finale.

F1 kicks off in Australia, ends in UAE

The 2026 season will start in Melbourne, Australia, from March 6 to 8. It's the second time in a row that the season opens at the Albert Park street circuit.

Over the next nine months, the championship will travel across 24 race weekends, hitting key locations in Asia, Europe, and the Americas before ending in the UAE.

Spain adds a second race with Madrid debut

A notable change in the 2026 calendar is Spain hosting two races. Alongside the regular Barcelona stop in June, Madrid is making its F1 debut from September 11 to 13. This new city race will officially close the European leg of the season.

New team, new rules, new era

Aside from the new venues, the 2026 season is shaping up to be a game-changer for Formula One.
Here’s what’s new:

  • Cadillac joins the grid as the 11th team.

  • Major changes in aerodynamics and power units are being introduced.

  • Fresh manufacturers are stepping in, pointing toward a major shakeup in car performance and team dynamics.

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem called it a “significant new chapter” for the sport, highlighting the calendar’s mix of new teams, new cities, and new tech rules.
