Qatar University is preparing to host a number of international football sports teams, which will reside on campus during the 2022 World Cup, namely: the Argentine national team and the Spanish national team.

Dr. said. Hassan Al-Derham, President of Qatar University - according to the Qatar University website - "The university is currently preparing to host the Argentine national team and the Spanish national team, who chose the Qatar University campus as the home for their sports teams during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He added, "The university is rich in a distinguished number of sports facilities that were built in accordance with international and Olympic specifications, in addition to housing units equipped according to the latest systems that are compatible with health and safety requirements."

Dr. Al-Derham continued: "The Qatar University campus has a world-class infrastructure, and therefore it contains virtually all the facilities that a world-class team might need, and it also has everything necessary for football players, and as we renew our welcome to these sports and international teams. We are pleased and honored to contribute to the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and to demonstrate the country’s ability, institutions, and energies to organize a successful global event with all our abilities.

Qatar University has three open sports complexes that provide the opportunity to practice outdoor sports, in addition to the indoor gym for women. These facilities host various sports, including football, volleyball, handball, basketball, tennis, swimming, diving, and water polo, in addition to squash, gyms and others.

Among the most prominent of these facilities is Qatar University Stadium, which is one of the university’s main facilities, which was built in accordance with international and Olympic specifications and includes a football field, running track, and athletics tracks, and contains stands for fans that can accommodate up to ten thousand spectators, and moreover, it includes all rooms and facilities Necessary for hosting big matches.

The draw for the group stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup resulted in the placement of Spain in Group E, accompanied by Germany and Japan, and the winner of the play-off match (between New Zealand and Costa Rica).

The dates of the matches of the Spanish national team in the group stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be as follows:

Spain will start its campaign in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar by facing the winner of the continental play-off (between New Zealand and Costa Rica) on November 23.

While Spain will play its second match in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup against Germany on November 27.

Spain will conclude its group stage matches of the Qatar 2022 World Cup against Japan on December 1.

It is worth noting that this participation is Spain's 16th participation in the World Cup, preceded by 15 participations, the best of which was fourth place in the 1950 World Cup in Brazil, and of course the crowning of the championship in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, after its victory over the Netherlands in the final match with the famous goal scored by Andres Iniesta.
