Qatar Airways is gearing up for major expansion in Saudi Arabia, announcing increased flights to Riyadh and Jeddah as the airline continues to scale up its regional network.

The update was revealed during the Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer’s panel session, “Tourism Rising: A New Era of Influence and Impact,” at the TOURISE summit in Riyadh—a week filled with major announcements, from new hotels to theme park reveals.

More Flights, More Cities

Effective January 5, 2026, Qatar Airways will operate more than 150 weekly flights across 13 Saudi cities, connecting the Kingdom to over 170 global destinations through Hamad International Airport in Doha.

As part of the expansion:

  • Ha’il (HAS) will become the airline’s 13th destination in Saudi Arabia, with three weekly flights launching soon.
  • Flights to Jeddah (JED) and Riyadh (RUH) will increase from six to seven daily flights, boosting capacity on two of the busiest Saudi routes.

The expansion builds on an already strong year for the airline in the Kingdom, including the return of flights to Abha and the launch of services to The Red Sea in October—making Qatar Airways the first international carrier to connect the new Red Sea destination to its global network.

Qatar Airways Highlights Growing Demand

Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer expressed pride in the airline’s growing footprint in Saudi Arabia, saying:

“At Qatar Airways, we are proud to see our presence continually grow in both scale and significance across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our network now spans every major region of the Kingdom, and over the past 12 months, we have connected nearly 2.5 million passengers in the Kingdom to our global network.”

With the additional flights, Qatar Airways strengthens its position as one of the leading international airlines serving Saudi Arabia, enhancing travel connectivity for both leisure and business passengers across the region.
