Qatar Airways to Resume Services to Canberra
Qatar Airways Relaunches Canberra Service, Strengthening Australia-Qatar Connectivity in 2025
Qatar Airways is set to resume daily flights to Canberra, Australia — a major move officially relaunched on 2 December 2025, marking the return of the airline’s service to the country’s capital via Melbourne.
The restart expands Qatar Airways’ Australian network to six key cities, joining existing links to Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.
The new Canberra service operates on a Boeing 777 aircraft and offers travellers seamless connectivity through its hub, Hamad International Airport in Doha — giving access to over 170 destinations worldwide.
Passengers flying in Qsuite Business Class will enjoy a premium onboard experience: fully lie-flat beds, sliding privacy doors, and à la carte dining by a renowned Australian chef.
Complementing the premium service, all travellers — in Business or Economy class — can benefit from complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, a standout feature for long-haul routes to and from Canberra.
The resumption of Doha–Canberra flights represents a significant milestone for the Australian capital. According to Canberra Airport CEO, this restored connection will serve over a million people across the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and southern New South Wales, opening new opportunities for tourism, business travel, government, study and cultural exchange. The renewed service is expected to boost international access for Canberra residents and attract global visitors, re-establishing the city as a competitive international gateway.
This expansion also comes amid a broader network enhancement by Qatar Airways, which recently unveiled a global winter schedule boosting flights to more than 15 destinations worldwide.
The revival of the Canberra route underlines the airline’s commitment to reconnecting secondary gateway cities and broadening its global footprint post-pandemic.
For travellers in Qatar, Australia, and beyond, the reinstated route offers more convenience, flexibility, and opportunity — whether heading to Canberra for business or adventure, or connecting via Doha to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. As the 2025 winter schedule takes effect, Qatar Airways reaffirms its role as a key connector between continents and cultures, and Canberra rejoins the global travel map under its wings.
