The Supreme Committee Meets Local Argentina and Mexico Fan

A delegation from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy met fans of the Argentine and Mexican national teams, during a tour of the two capitals, Buenos Aires and Mexico City, less than a month before the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

Hundreds of fans, who continue their preparations to travel to Qatar to attend the tournament, learned all the details related to attending the first edition of the Football World Cup in the Arab world and the Middle East, including match tickets, accommodation for visitors to Qatar during the event, and the mandatory Haya card for all fans of the tournament, transportation services, and recreational activities throughout the World Cup days.

The meetings of the representatives of the Supreme Committee with fans witnessed the presence of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Al Kuwari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico, and His Excellency Mr. Battal bin Mujeeb Al Dosari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Argentina, and the meeting of fans in Mexico City witnessed the presence of the former Mexican football star, and Ambassador of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Luis Hernandez.

Mrs. Najwa Al-Thani, Director of Corporate Communications at the Supreme Committee, said: “Our aim by organizing such mass events is to enhance the enthusiasm of the football fans in the world for the upcoming tournament, and to answer all their inquiries before traveling to Qatar to attend the World Cup.”

She added: "It was great to meet the fans of Argentina and Mexico, who are known for their great passion for football, and we saw how excited they are for the World Cup, and to visit Qatar, which is preparing to host an exceptional edition of the World Cup.

We extend our thanks to the Qatari embassies in the two countries for their efforts and support in organizing fan events and delivering the light on what awaits football fans in the world, during the upcoming football festival in Qatar, the land of the World Cup.”

Members of the Qatar Fan Leaders Network, which was launched last year by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and includes nearly 400 football fans and influencers in 60 countries, participated in mass events in Argentina and Mexico.

Network members contribute to tournament planning by gaining fan insights, conducting research, and creating content to facilitate engagement with fans and promote the tournament around the world.

It is noteworthy that the Argentina and Mexico teams are competing in the Qatar 2022 World Cup in Group C, which includes Saudi Arabia and Poland, and the fans of the two countries are looking forward to the upcoming confrontation between the two teams on November 26 at Lusail Stadium, which can accommodate more than 80,000 fans, and will witness the coronation of the World Cup winner.
