Qatar Denies Reports of Airspace Closure

Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority has firmly denied circulating reports on social media claiming that the country's airspace has been closed or that flight operations have been suspended.

In a statement posted on the X platform, the authority confirmed that aviation operations are continuing normally. It urged the public to disregard unverified rumors and rely solely on official sources for accurate information regarding air traffic status.

The clarification follows speculation sparked by a recently issued Notice to Airmen (NOTAM). While the document was real, the authority stressed that it relates strictly to the designation of alternative air routes. This measure is intended to ensure the safe and efficient operation of air navigation services under current circumstances, rather than indicating any closure of Qatari airspace.

Despite the NOTAM being a standard procedural update for route adjustments, it had prompted online theories suggesting potential restrictions on flights operating to and from the Gulf nation. The Civil Aviation Authority's statement aims to quell these concerns and reassure passengers and airlines that normal service is uninterrupted.
