Qatar Airways has announced the launch of limited relief flights to help passengers stranded due to ongoing travel disruptions across the region.
According to the airline, while regular flight operations remain temporarily suspended, a small number of special flights began operating on March 5 to assist travellers who have been unable to continue their journeys. The initiative aims to support passengers affected by the current regional situation and ongoing airspace restrictions.
The airline revealed that the initial relief services will include flights departing from Muscat to several European destinations such as London Heathrow, Berlin, Copenhagen, Madrid, Rome, and Amsterdam. Additionally, a separate flight from Riyadh to Frankfurt is scheduled as part of the operation.
Qatar Airways has advised passengers not to go to the airport unless they receive official communication from the airline. Affected travellers will be contacted directly with their flight assignments, travel arrangements, and further instructions.
The airline also urged passengers to ensure that their contact details are updated so they can receive timely notifications about relief flights and travel guidance.
Meanwhile, the carrier confirmed that its regular flight operations remain suspended until the reopening of Qatar’s airspace is deemed safe by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority. An update on the situation is expected on March 6, 2026, as authorities continue to monitor developments closely.
The limited relief flights are part of broader regional efforts by airlines and governments to help travellers stranded amid widespread aviation disruptions in the Middle East.
