Talabat Services Temporarily Suspended in Qatar for One Week

Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced a one-week administrative closure of Talabat services in the country, following violations of consumer protection regulations.

The decision, enforced under Articles (7) and (11) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and its executive regulations, comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, fair practices, and consumer rights in the market.

According to the MoCI, the closure was tied to reported violations regarding the accuracy of product information and service guarantees. It emphasized that such measures form part of a broader strategy to boost consumer confidence and maintain a competitive business environment.

In parallel, some users had recently reported technical difficulties with the Talabat app, including slow loading and performance issues.

Talabat, one of Qatar’s leading delivery platforms, is reportedly working to address the concerns raised. The company is expected to resume normal operations soon after implementing corrective measures.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to monitoring the market and holding all service providers accountable for compliance, reinforcing that consumer rights remain a top priority.
