Qatar Declares 7-Day Eid Al Fitr Holiday for Public Sector

The Amiri Diwan of Qatar has officially announced a week-long holiday for Eid Al Fitr, impacting government entities across the nation. The break is scheduled to begin on March 17, 2026, and will conclude on March 23, 2026, marking a significant period of celebration for residents as they observe the Islamic holiday.

Holiday Applies to Government Ministries and Public Institutions

In its statement, the Amiri Diwan confirmed that the Eid holiday will be applicable to ministries, government bodies, public authorities, and various institutions. Following the festive period, employees are set to return to work starting March 24, 2026.

Special Schedule for Financial and Banking Sectors

The announcement also highlighted that the holiday period for entities within the financial sector, including the Qatar Central Bank, financial institutions supervised by the bank, and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, will be determined separately. The governor of the Qatar Central Bank will set the specific schedule for these services.
