Qatar's Amiri Diwan Announces Eid Al Fitr Holidays for Public Sector

The Amiri Diwan has announced that the Eid Al Fitr holidays in Qatar will begin on Wednesday, April 19th, and run until Thursday, April 27th.

The decision applies to ministries, other government agencies, and public authorities and institutions.

Public employees will resume work on Sunday, April 30th, after the weekend.

Ramadan 29th falls on Thursday, April 20th, and the moon sighting committee will meet up to confirm the start of Eid. If the crescent moon is spotted on that night, it means that Eid Al Fitr will start on Friday, April 21st.

However, if the moon is not spotted that night, then the first day of Eid will fall on Saturday, April 22nd.

Ramadan is expected to last for 29 days in 2023, according to astronomical calculations.
