The Eid holiday will begin on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah, which is known as Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam. The break will last until the 13th day of Dhul Hijjah, covering the full span of the religious festival. However, the exact dates are still subject to the moon sighting, which determines the start of each month in the Islamic lunar calendar.

When Is Eid Al Adha 2025?

The moon-sighting committee in Qatar is expected to meet on May 27 to look for the new crescent moon. If the moon is sighted that evening, Dhul Hijjah will begin on May 28. If not, it will start on May 29.

This means Arafah Day, the day pilgrims gather at Mount Arafat during Hajj, will fall on either Thursday, June 5, or Friday, June 6. Eid Al Adha will be celebrated the following day, either on June 6 or June 7.

How Long Is the Eid Holiday in Qatar?

Qatar’s Eid Al Adha break will run from Dhul Hijjah 9 to 13, giving residents a solid five-day holiday. It’s a great opportunity for travel, staycations, or simply relaxing with loved ones. Just keep in mind: the final dates will be confirmed closer to the holiday, depending on the moon sighting.

What About the UAE?

The UAE has also announced that Arafah Day will be a public holiday, followed by a three-day break for Eid Al Adha (from Dhul Hijjah 10 to 12). That means the UAE Eid break is expected to be from Friday, June 6, to Sunday, June 8, again, pending official moon-sighting confirmation.
