Iraq claimed a 3-2 victory over Vietnam in the AFC Asian Cup 2024, securing their spot at the top with maximum points.

Aymen Hussein, Iraq's standout player, scored his fourth and fifth goals in the tournament, leading the scoring charts.

Vietnam initially took the lead just before halftime with Bui Hoang Viet Anh's set-piece goal. However, Vietnam faced adversity as Khuat Van Khang received a second yellow card, leading to his dismissal at halftime.

Iraq swiftly responded, equalizing two minutes into the second half with Rebin Sulaka's header from a corner. Aymen Hussein added to the tally with a header in the 73rd minute.

Despite Vietnam's late effort, including Nguyen Quang Hai's equalizer in the 91st minute, Iraq clinched the win with a penalty calmly converted by Hussein in the 12th minute of added time.

The thrilling match showcased Iraq's resilience and goal-scoring prowess, solidifying their position as a strong contender in the tournament.
