Education City Tram Green Line Is Now Open to the Public

The Education City Tram Green Line, the city's third line, is now officially open to the public.

This is the newest addition to Qatar Foundation's transport network that aims to connect the north campus with the south campus.

The new tram line will pass through the Gharafat/Al Rayyan intersection, which has been made extra safe with traffic lights, speed cameras and additional roadside barriers.

"Sidra, Qatar National Convention Centre, Qatar Science and Technology Park and our accommodation in the North Campus will all be seamlessly connected," Hamad Al Kuwari, Executive Director of City Operations at Qatar Foundation told Qatar Living.

"This will allow our students, faculty, staff and people commuting through Education City to move freely without the use of cars. It will have a major impact on the carbon footprint they leave behind," he added.
