Qatar Museums Announce Operating Hours for Ramadan 2026

As the Holy Month of Ramadan began on 18 February 2026, Qatar Museums has announced updated operating hours for its museums, galleries and cultural spaces across the country to accommodate observance of the holy month.

Under the revised schedule, all Qatar Museums-managed sites will open from 9 am to 2 pm from Saturday to Thursday, before closing during the afternoon break and reopening for evening visits from 8 pm to midnight. On Fridays, the institutions will be open exclusively during the evening window from 8 pm to 12 am.

In addition to adjusted hours, select museums will observe weekly closure days to better align with operational needs during Ramadan:

  • National Museum of Qatar and 3‑2‑1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will be closed on Tuesdays.
  • Museum of Islamic Art will remain closed on Wednesdays.
  • Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will not open on Mondays during the month.

Another cultural venue, Dadu Gardens, will host special Ramadan sessions with extended evening access on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as additional afternoon and evening slots on Saturdays.

Qatar Museums also confirmed that a full programme of exhibitions, workshops, tours and events is in development and will be shared at a later date to encourage visitors to engage with Qatar’s rich cultural offerings throughout the holy month.

The announcement of Ramadan operating hours complements a broader set of adjustments across Qatar, including revised public sector schedules and transportation services, aimed at supporting residents and visitors during the fasting period.

Visitors planning trips to museum sites and cultural spaces are advised to check the Qatar Museums website for the latest details on specific opening times and planned events during Ramadan.
