Die Mannschaft to Stay at Zulal Health Resort During World Cup 2022

The German national team chose to stay in the "Zulal Health Resort" during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which will be held between November 21 and December 18.

The resort, which opened earlier this year, is located in al-Roueiss on the northern coast of Qatar, which is parallel to the Arabian Gulf. It is only an hour and a half drive away from Hamad International Airport, while the resort is located just outside Doha and is about an hour away.

Players, coaches, and staff will stay separately at the resort and away from the rest of the people. The training will be held at the North Club Stadium, which is located only a few minutes away from the hotel. All facilities located at the sports complex, including the media center, will be available.

The management of the German team studied a number of places where the team could have been during the World Cup. Oliver Bierhoff, the manager of the national teams, said: "We want to create the atmosphere in the best way possible so that our team can play a successful tournament. This resort meets all our requirements as a hotel for the team, as it provides the team with the opportunity to get away from the noise and racket of the World Cup. In the World Cup, the team spirit plays a crucial role, so we want to create close friendships between everyone in a way that helps us go away in the tournament, and we also admired the wonderful training facilities at the North Club Stadium."

Coach Hans Flick said: "The early qualification for the World Cup helped us a lot in our search for a suitable accommodation camp in Qatar. We have everything we need in Ruwais. We are a short distance away from the North Club training ground and the circumstances and atmosphere there are wonderful, which will allow us to concentrate and practice intensively. This important choice has already been ratified. Now we can focus on the sports aspect. We have important matches in the UEFA Europa League against England, Italy, and Hungary in June and September, which will help us more to confirm our readiness for the World Cup."

Mannschaft will travel to Qatar on November 17th, when the draw will pit Germany in Group E of the World Cup. The first match of the tournament against Japan will be played on November 23rd in Al-Rayyan. Four days later, Spain will face Al-Khor. The third contender will be either New Zealand or Costa Rica, where the two teams will face each other in a playoff on June 14th. The last match in the group will be played on December 1st in Al-Khor.
