Five talented Qatari female artists are making waves at the third edition of the Empower Her Art Forum, currently being held at the iconic Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Running from May 16 to 20, the international forum features the work of 200 female artists from over 35 countries.

Meet the Qatari Artists

Representing Qatar at the event are Hanadi Al Darwish, Haifa Alkhuzaei, Wadha Al Sulaiti, Suad Al Salem, and Maryam Al Mousa. Their work celebrates the richness of Qatari heritage and highlights the diverse and evolving presence of Qatari women in the arts.

Art Inspired by Qatari Heritage and Women

Wadha Al Sulaiti shared with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the group’s artwork is inspired by Qatari culture and shines a spotlight on the role of women. She noted that this is the first time Qatari artists have participated in this forum and expressed her appreciation for the warm reception from the Egyptian hosts.

Exploring Women’s Lives Through Art

Suad Al Salem also spoke to QNA, explaining that her pieces explore the lives of women through wood engraving techniques. She described the forum as a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and artistic dialogue with creatives from around the world.
