Doha Is Among World's Top 50 Cities in Kearney's Global Cities Index

Doha broke into the world's top 50 cities for the first time since 2018 in Kearney's 2023 Global Cities Index, coming exactly in the 50th spot, moving up seven spots from 2022.

Doha was ranked 53rd in 2021, 68th in 2020, 61st in 2019 and 63rd in 2018. in the previous years respectively.

The Qatari capital city's rise was driven by Qatar's substantial improvements in the Human Capital dimension, the return of international travel movement to pre-pandemic levels, attracting large volumes of migrant talent and tourism. 

The index seeks to quantify the extent to which a city can attract, retain, and generate global flows of capital, people, and ideas. 

Cities are measured against five key dimensions: human capital, information exchange, cultural experience, political engagement, and business activity.
