The stadium’s design simulates an important part of Qatar’s past and present, taking into account future societal requirements, as it is surrounded by various facilities that meet these requirements. Its construction is a model for eco-friendly development, as the project organizers sought to achieve the sustainability goals that Qatar has established. In addition to being a world-class edifice worthy of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, this stadium represents a role model in the world of stadium construction in the future.

The city of Al Khor is 60 km north of the capital Doha and is famous due to its geographical location for pearl diving and fishing, which attracted the people of the Badia to live on the coast. Thanks to its distinctive and multicultural nature, Al Khor was an ideal choice to host one of the 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums.
