Qatar’s Lolwah Al Khater is Awarded with France’s Highest Honour

On Sunday, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, Lolwah Al Khater, was awarded the prestigious Legion of Honor, the highest French order of merit, being granted the rank of "Knight".

According to the Gulf state’s foreign ministry, the award is followed by valuable meetings in France with officials and high dignitaries from parliamentarians and academics on Thursday & Friday.

The meeting included the French President’s Adviser for North Africa and the Middle East, the Minister of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs among several others.

“The meetings reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries, developing partnerships in energy, sports, investment, development and international development, in addition to exchanging experiences in managing crises and providing humanitarian assistance,” the statement stated.

Areas of cooperation also included discussing the Doha and the Paris Peace Forums.

The two countries signed deals on cooperating and investing in partnerships in the light of international development, in which both countries will further play a role in humanitarian assistance.

In light of the forthcoming second round of the Qatar and France strategic dialogue in Paris, meetings have been held, the specific date of which has not been revealed yet by the Qatari foreign ministry.
