Qatar Charity's Ramadan Challenge Raises Over $13.7 Million

A charitable drive conducted during the final nights of Ramadan has garnered an impressive 50 million Qatari Riyals (approximately $13.7 million) to aid a global initiative aimed at enhancing the lives of orphans.

Charitable Drive Success

The 27th Night Challenge, organized by Qatar Charity (QCharity), unfolded from Wednesday to midnight on Friday, coinciding with the 27th night of Ramadan. This initiative, deemed the "most auspicious nights" of the holy month by QCharity, served as a platform to raise awareness about humanitarian issues and rally support for diverse projects.

Funds Allocation

The three-day endeavor surpassed its primary objective of collecting a minimum of 50 million QAR to bolster the construction of what is poised to be the world's largest residential city for orphans. Known as the City of Life project, spearheaded by QCharity, it aims to establish a residential educational hub in Istanbul, Turkey. This facility will provide holistic care, encompassing educational, healthcare, and protective services, for orphans worldwide.

Community Involvement

Members of the Qatari community congregated at the Al Hikma Square within the Katara Cultural Village Foundation to actively contribute to this noble cause. Notable figures including educational advisor Abdulrahman Al Harami and social media influencers Muhammad Adnan and Abdullah Al Ghafri served as the event's hosts.
