A spirited and energetic atmosphere marked the official launch of the Ramadan Sports Festival 2026 on February 22, as the Aspire Zone Foundation opened its doors for the 12th edition of one of the country’s most anticipated sporting events during the holy month.

The festival, running daily from 8 p.m. until midnight through March 6, has drawn a strong public turnout and highlighted Qatar’s commitment to promoting physical activity and community participation throughout Ramadan.

Spanning 12 consecutive days, the festival features a comprehensive lineup of 11 sports and fitness events that cater to men, women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Competitions are hosted across multiple venues within Aspire Zone, offering a dynamic and inclusive environment for athletes and spectators alike.

Among the highlights is the spirited “Embassies” Football Tournament, where 24 teams compete in group stages at Pitch No. 5, drawing wide attention from football fans. The program also includes the Aspetar Football Tournament, men’s, women’s, and youth basketball competitions at the Ladies Sports Hall, and table tennis championships for persons with disabilities, emphasizing the festival’s inclusivity.

Aquatic action takes place at the Hamad Aquatic Centre, where swimming competitions bring together participants of varied skill levels. Sand enthusiasts can enjoy beach volleyball matches on the outdoor courts of Aspire Academy, while racket sports are spotlighted with women’s padel tournaments at the Padel In courts. The festival culminates with the Women’s Futsal Championship, rounding out a diverse slate of activities that engage athletes of all interests.

In addition to competitive events, the festival incorporates community-focused initiatives such as the Family Night Run, organized in partnership with the Qatar Sports for All Federation at Aspire Park. This event reinforces the spirit of unity and underscores sport as a lifestyle choice that brings families together in a healthy, supportive setting.
