Now Boarding Everyone! Qatar–Bahrain Ferry Opens to All Nationalities

Here’s some good news for your travel plans: the Qatar–Bahrain ferry, which officially launched on November 6, 2025, is now open to non-GCC nationalities, according to the MASAR app. Initially limited to GCC citizens, the route has quickly expanded access, allowing more travelers to experience this smooth and scenic sea trip.

A Quick Sea Trip Between Neighbors

The ferry runs between Al-Ruwais Port in northern Qatar and Sa’ada Marina in Bahrain, covering around 65 km (35 nautical miles) in just 70–80 minutes. Passengers can book tickets via the MASAR app, choosing between standard or VIP vessels with comfy onboard hospitality for up to 28 and 32 passengers, respectively.

Trips began with two daily round-trips from November 7–12, and now run three times daily until November 22, with more to come depending on demand.
