World's Highest Indoor Gym Officially Opens in Qatar

Fitness just got a glow-up in the clouds. The Torch Doha has officially opened the world’s highest indoor gym, perched a whopping 247 meters above ground on the 50th floor of the iconic tower. Guinness World Records was on-site to hand over the title — and yeah, it’s a first-of-its-kind flex.

“Congratulations, you are now officially amazing,” said Kanzy El-Defrawy, an adjudicator for Guinness World Records, as she confirmed the record-breaking feat.

The state-of-the-art gym sits inside The Torch Club — a members-only fitness sanctuary that merges top-tier technology with warm Qatari hospitality. Located on floors 50 and 51, the space offers jaw-dropping views of Doha, including sights of the Aspire Zone, the Khalifa International Stadium, and the Aspire Dome.

El-Defrawy confirmed this was a brand-new category for Guinness. “This record is a new record title, so there is no previous or current record holder for this title,” she said, noting all standard criteria were fulfilled.

The official record certificate was presented to Abdulla Nasse Al-Naimi, acting CEO of the Aspire Zone Foundation, and Wael Al-Sharif, Area General Manager of The Torch Doha.

But this isn’t The Torch’s first time in the spotlight. The building, shaped like an Olympic torch and originally constructed for the 15th Asian Games in 2006, also boasts the world’s largest external 360° screen — installed just in time for FIFA World Cup 2022.

And now, it’s leveling up its wellness game. According to a statement, The Torch Club will offer Technogym services and “culturally attuned wellness experiences” to its members, adding yet another feather in the cap of this iconic skyscraper.

High-altitude gains, anyone?
