Doha Fashion Show Postponed to March Over Regional Security Concerns

The Doha Fashion Show, originally scheduled for January 19–21, has been postponed to March due to regional security concerns, organisers announced Friday. The decision comes after Qatar implemented precautionary measures at the US-run Al Udeid Air Base amid rising tensions in the region.

Organisers said the move was made “out of an abundance of caution” to ensure the safety of designers, talent, media, partners, and guests, while maintaining a high-quality experience for attendees.

Security Concerns Prompt Delay

Qatar’s International Media Office confirmed precautionary steps at Al Udeid, including the departure of some personnel, were taken to protect citizens, residents, and critical infrastructure. The security alert at the base was lowered just one day later, according to sources briefed on the situation.

While the alert has eased, organisers opted to delay the fashion event to provide a secure environment for everyone involved.
