Did You Know About the Leaning Mosque in Qatar?

Social media has been abuzz with videos of a leaning mosque in Qatar, which is located in the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Museum in Al Shahaniya City.

The minaret of the mosque has a slanting structure and the body of the mosque also has a leaning structure. The mosque's design was the idea of Sheikh Faisal himself, according to the information centre of the museum.

The mosque is 27m tall with a 20 degrees inclination. The walls of the mosque are made of stones and the windows of the mosque are made of beautiful coloured glass.

The mosque has a 2.5m deep raft footing in the ground with eight piles, which holds the mosque's structure upright. The mosque was built from stones from the surrounding area of the museum, therefore the building process was environmentally friendly.

The leaning mosque is another gem in Qatar's list of beautiful mosques
