"Honoring Maradona" Exhibition Opens at Hamad International Airport

Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani officially inaugurated an exhibition honoring the legend Diego Maradona at the VIP planes Building at Hamad International Airport, under the auspices of Qatar Airways and Qatar Executive, a subsidiary of the Qatar Airways Group, which provides private and luxury aircraft leasing services in all countries around the world.

The exhibition receives all visitors daily throughout the period of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ until December 18.

The exhibition, according to a statement published by Qatar Airways on its website, uses the latest technology to introduce Maradona and the achievements he achieved during his football career. Thus, visitors in the State of Qatar will be able to interact with the football star in an unprecedented way.

Among the activities of the exhibition, is a group of auctions, a percentage of the proceeds of which will go to charitable organizations, in addition to interesting performances by famous international artists.

The VIP plane building at Hamad International Airport is about 20 minutes away from Doha and will host many athletes and football celebrities from all over the world as they honor the late legend Maradona by displaying some of their personal belongings to be auctioned at the end of the exhibition.

On December 17, just before the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, the Tango D1OS plane, decorated with Maradona's image, will be offered for sale at the auction, which will be supervised by Al Bahi Auction House.

Several pieces of Maradona's valuable memorabilia, which were donated by his heirs, will also be offered, in addition to collectibles donated by athletes from all over the world.

20% of the auction proceeds will be allocated to charities.

The exhibition will include many activities, such as:

- Penalty Kick Challenge: Take part in penalty kicks against artificial intelligence with a high-tech goalkeeper.

- Maradona 360 Dome: Feel the awe of Diego entering the pitch in a unique immersive experience

- Today's Football Report: Visit the exclusive lounge daily

- Photo booth: Fans from all over the world will leave messages for Diego Maradona.

The collection of these messages will begin in Qatar 2022™ until the FIFA World Cup USA 2026™.

- International Media Center: Learn about international newspapers with the latest technology.

Qatar Airways stated that tickets can be purchased through “Discover Qatar”, including tickets for residents of the State of Qatar and tickets for passengers during their stopover between “transit” flights at Hamad International Airport.
