Qatari Citizens Are Now Eligible for UK's ETA

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in London announced that Qatar's citizens are now eligible to apply for the United Kingdom's new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Program.

The embassy shared the news on Oct. 25 and explained that Qatari citizens can now apply for an electronic visa waiver, which allows them entry to the UK on or after Nov. 15.

An ETA gives travellers permission to travel to the UK, so they can apply for the ETA, instead of a visa. 

The ETA will allow travellers to come to the UK for six months for tourism, visiting loved ones, or for short-term study.

The ETA will also allow people to come to the UK for up to three months on the Creative Worker visa concession. 

Travellers who are transiting through the UK can also get an ETA. 

Other than Qatari citizens, citizens of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will be able to get an ETA on or after Feb.22, 2024. 

These citizens can apply to get the ETA from Feb. 1, 2024.
