Qatar Urges Private Sector to Go Remote on March 2

The Ministry of Labour, together with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has advised all private-sector companies to allow employees to work remotely on Monday, 2 March 2026, wherever possible.

This step comes as authorities continue to prioritise public safety and well-being.

Physical Presence Allowed Where Necessary

Businesses that require staff on-site, including retail stores, restaurants, and service providers interacting directly with the public, are exempt. Strict health and safety measures must still be followed.

Authorities emphasised that these measures aim to keep essential goods and services running smoothly while safeguarding workers and the wider community.

Focus on Safety and Stability

The state praised the cooperation of employers and employees in ensuring labour market stability. Officials reiterated their commitment to security, prosperity, and the welfare of residents and citizens.
