Lusail International Circuit to Host Formula 2 Race for the First Time

The FIA Formula 2 Championship has announced Lusail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar as a new race venue for the first time.

Formula 2 retained its 14-round calendar by replacing the race in Zandvoort, Netherlands, with Qatar. 

The 13th round will be held in Doha from Wednesday, November 29th, to Friday, December 1st.

FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said: "I'm very pleased to announce that there'll be 14 rounds and 28 races on the Formula 2 calendar in 2024. Next year, we'll race in Qatar, which is a very exciting new venue." 

The eighth season of Formula 2 will open at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 29th to March 2th before heading to Saudi Arabia from March 7th to 9th. 

The third round will be held in Melbourne, Australia from March 22nd to March 24th, before heading to Italy for the fourth round from May 17th to 19th, then Monte Carlo, Monaco from May 23rd to May 26th.

Barcelona, Spain will host the sixth round from June 21st to June 23rd, while the seventh round will be held in Spielberg, Austria from June 28th to 30th, followed by the eighth round in Silverstone, UK from July 5th to 7th.

The ninth round will be held in Budapest, Hungary from July 19th to July 21st, while round 10 will take place in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium from July 26th to 28th.

After a summer break, the field will return to Monza, Italy from August 30th to September 1st before flying to Baku, Azerbaijan on September 13th to 15th.

The 13th round will take place in Doha, Qatar before concluding at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi from December 6th to 8th.
