Qatar Residents Call For Revamping Lusail Boulevard

Qatar residents want to revamp the Lusail Boulevard area following a significant decrease in the number of visitors after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Doha News reported, citing staff working in the area and residents. 

Lusail Boulevard is located near the golden Lusail Stadium, which hosted the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which made it a popular tourist spot among international football fans. 

It is a main road that stretches from the four iconic Lusail skyscrapers, and has several cafes, a family-friendly atmosphere, and daily street shows. 

"The Lusail Boulevard has been open for a very short time for the World Cup, it's still not yet complete, we need some events, some programmes, I think," a cafe manager said.  

Workers from a cafe at Lusail Boulevard said the number of daily visitors currently dropped from 67,000 during the World Cup to only 6,000. 

A restaurant manager also gave a rough percentage of 80 percent for the drop in foot traffic.
