Qatar Airways Becomes F1's Global Partner & Official Airline Till 2027

Qatar Airways has signed a partnership to become the Global Partner and Official Airline of Formula 1 (F1), the pinnacle of motorsport, through the 2027 season.

The national carrier and F1 made the announcement on Wednesday, February 22nd, during an event at the Lusail Boulevard.

Qatar Airways will also be the Title Sponsor of three Grands Prix this year, namely the Qatar Airways Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Qatar Airways Hungarian Grand Prix, and the Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix.

F1 will host 23 races this year, across 21 countries.

"As a brand, we believe in the power of sports to unite people, and as such, we've been selective with picking the most thrilling sporting events and sponsoring a variety of new and prominent sporting initiatives," he added.

Popular R&B and hip-hop artist Akon performed live at Lusail Boulevard yesterday, as part of Live F1 Car demonstration.

The event featured Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah in his rally car, David Coulthard in a Red Bull Formula 1 car, Dani Pedrosa in a MotoGP bike, and Abdo Feghali in a Red Bull drift car. 

Visitors got the opportunity to see a static display of an FIA World Endurance Championship hypercar.
