Mutaz Barshim Becomes a Member of the Athletes Committee of OCA

Qatar's athlete Mutaz Barshim has become a member of the Athletes Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) during the recent Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. 

The OCA held the Athletes Committee elections during the games from Sep. 23 to Oct. 8.

The committee elected nine members, two athletes each, one male and one female from the OCA geographical zones. 

Mutaz Barshim is a Qatari high jump world champion. He is the national record-holder and Asian record-holder with his best mark of 2.43 meters. 

Becoming a member of the OCA's Athlete Committee is another milestone in Barshim's successful career and we wish him the best with his new role!
