Ooredoo announces 11th edition of Qatar Marathon

Ooredoo announced on Sunday in a press conference the preparations for ‘Doha Marathon by Ooredoo 2023’  which is going to take place this Friday, 20^th of January.

The 11^th edition of the annual sport event in collaboration with Qatar Athletic Federation will host up to 8000 runners with around QR1M in prize money for all categories.

The marathon started in 2013 and is the most popular athletic occasion in Doha. People in Qatar wait eagerly for this running event and march to streets to watch the race.

Ooredoo released information about the inauguration of the sports event at a news conference held in Ooredoo Tower in West Bay, Doha along with the event ambassador and Qatari athlete Mutaz Barshim.

The event will start and finish at the Corniche located in Rumaila area with the full marathon starting at 6:15AM followed by the half marathon at 7am. The 10km category will start at 8.30am, while the 5km category will start at 9.30am. Lastly, the 1km category for kids will start at 10.30am.

The participants who finish their categories will get a medal, and all profits will be disbursed as donations to different local charities in Qatar.
