HIA Releases Passenger Advisory for Eid Al-Adha Holidays

For the approaching Eid Al-Adha celebrations, Hamad International Airport (HIA) has issued a passenger advisory due to the high volume of travelers leaving Doha beginning on June 30, 2022, and the high peak of travelers arriving in Doha beginning on July 15, 2022. To guarantee a hassle-free journey through the airport, the HIA advised travelers to bear the following points in mind.

Airport Access and Car Park Services: To guarantee a pleasant experience, passengers are suggested to conduct pick-up and drop-off at the short-term car park rather than curbside.

The short-term parking lot will offer free parking services as per the following schedule:

June 30, 2022, 0:00 till July 1, 2022, 23:59 hrs - From July 7, 2022, at 0:00 a.m. to July 8, 2022, at 23:59 p.m., the first hour is free. - From July 15 to July 18, 2022, the first hour is free (04 days) from 03:30 until 23:00 hours are free (04 hours)

from July 22 to July 23, 2022 (02 days) from 03:30 until 23:00 hours are free (04 hours)

Only people who are traveling will be allowed entry to the arrival and departure terminal building.

Immigration and check-in: Unless your airline has specifically instructed you to arrive earlier and take advantage of early check-in services, check-in online and arrive three hours ahead of your departure.

The check-in counters will close 60 minutes before departure

Customers of Qatar Airways are encouraged to use the self-service check-in and bag-drop options, which allow travelers to check-in, print boarding cards and bag tags, tag their baggage and drop them off at the bag drop quickly before going through border control.

Utilize the E-gate resources to hasten the immigration procedure.

The standard immigration counters must be used by families traveling with children.

Guidelines for Handling Baggage:

Airlines will strictly enforce baggage allowance and weight restrictions; thus travelers are recommended to ask about these policies from their particular airline.

Passengers have access to the luggage repack room with luggage weighing equipment in the departure hall.

Avoid using plastic cling wrap to wrap check-in luggage since this could cause damage; instead, travelers should use the bag wrapping service offered in the departures area.

Verify security:

Before going through security, personal things like watches, belts, wallets, and jewelry must be safely stored within the bag rather than being placed in trays.

Larger electronics than cell phones must be taken out of luggage and put in trays for X-ray screening.

In addition to packing any liquid containers in clear, resealable plastic bags with each one being 100ml or less, passengers are required to make sure they are not carrying any prohibited items, such as liquids, aerosols, or gels.

Carriage of small lithium-battery-powered vehicles is not permitted, including hoverboards.

At no time may passengers leave their possessions, including bags, unattended in the terminal. Security guards will remove any unattended objects.

COVID Safety

For a hassle-free check-in experience, passengers must be informed of any updated travel requirements to the country they are visiting.

In order to travel, passengers must also show a green health status on their EHTERAZ application.
