Hamad Ali Al Khater Appointed New Qatar Airways Group CEO

Qatar Airways Group has announced the appointment of Hamad Ali Al Khater as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, effective December 7, marking a key leadership transition at the national carrier.

Al Khater succeeds Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer and joins Qatar Airways Group from Hamad International Airport, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he oversaw the safety and reliability of airport operations while leading strategic planning, operational excellence, infrastructure expansion, and continued improvements to passenger experience.

Before his tenure at Hamad International Airport, Al Khater held several senior leadership positions at QatarEnergy, where he was involved in business development, deal execution, and the management of large-scale strategic and operational initiatives.

Commenting on the appointment, HE Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Qatar Airways Group Board of Directors, said:
