FIFA World Cup Song Will Impact Public Perceptions of the Region

Aisha, one of the stars in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack's first single, 'Hayya Hayya (Better Together),' alongside Trinidad Cardona and Davido, said she hopes the song has changed people's perceptions of the region and that their performance has made people more excited about attending the first World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world.

"I hope this song kicks off a new narrative about Qatar as a talent hotspot and a location where people can be and are creative." I also hope it changes people's minds about the region and gives them a better understanding of our culture and customs, as well as highlighting the amazing progress we've made on the global stage. On that day, everyone on stage was representing Qatar to the rest of the globe. I'm convinced that this performance has attracted people's intention to visit."

She told the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy website about the impact of her participation in the FIFA World Cup song in the region, as well as her performance during the Final Draw earlier this month: "Having a Qatari woman featured in a World Cup song is a huge step for the country as well as the entire world because it's something that hasn't been done before." It's also the first time a complete album dedicated to the World Cup has been released. Qatar has promised to challenge the current quo and astound the globe, and this soundtrack is no exception. I hope that my participation encourages girls and women in the region, as well as any other artist with similar ambitions, to shoot for the stars. I want girls and women all across the world to see my accomplishments and think to themselves, "If she can do it, so can I." In addition, I hope that my contribution to the song will give the music industry a new flavor. The song is unlike anything the world has heard before, therefore I'm hopeful it will usher in a new type of music that includes Arabic voices and stories."

Aisha admitted that playing in front of such a large crowd, especially with people watching from all over the world, was nerve-wracking. " In the days running up to the performance, I was really nervous. It also helped that the song was published the morning before the show, so I was distracted by the good comments we were getting. I was overjoyed, and it put my mind at rest regarding the performance. It's much more significant to me because it's my first song to be released. Before stepping on stage, my heart was beating as predicted. At the same time, I felt terrified and excited."

"As soon as I stepped onto the stage, I felt relaxed and connected with the music." After that, it was a whole different story. "I was just having a great time," she added.

Aisha describes performing with Davido and Trinidad as "surreal" after being asked to be a part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM Official Soundtrack.

I'd say it was a dream come true, but as I already stated, I never imagined I'd be able to perform with such renowned names in the industry at such a young age. Everything has been quite fast-paced and unexpected, as you would guess, but it has been a blessing."

Her favorite feature of music, she says, is that it is a worldwide language, and she believes that music, like football, brings people together.

Aisha began her musical career in 2018, and the 25-year-old singer-songwriter has since performed at the United Nations General Assembly and the grand launch of Doha Festival City mall.
