"Art and Beyond" Exhibition Starts with Qatari and Arab Participation

The exhibition "Art and Beyond" opened on Sunday, October 23, with the participation of Qatari and Arab fine artists, and the presence of a group of interested parties.

The exhibition, which lasts several months, witnesses the participation of 12 artists from Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Syria, through 28 paintings, a variety of embodying the heritage and the Qatari environment, with modern and contemporary art.

Artists; Youssef Ahmed, Soraya Al-Baqsami, Amr Salama, Nouf Al-Abdullah, Hanadi Al-Darwish, Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Masoud Al-Balushi, Aisha Al-Khater, Iman Al-Baz, Selin Boukhilil, Jheida Al-Bitar, and Michel Ghanem presented their artistic vision, with a variety of styles and artistic materials, and a variety of ways The presentation in which these works were presented, as well as the varied artistic schools of the participating artists, which ranged from classic realism to abstraction.

Iman Hazemeh, an official and organizer of the exhibition, said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the exhibition aimed at the participation of artists from several countries, praising the sponsorship of the fine art movement in the State of Qatar, raising the scientific and artistic level of fine artists, preserving their production, encouraging them, and strengthening the bonds of friendship between them and artists in Arab countries and other countries.

For her part, Qatari artist Hanadi Al-Darwish confirmed, during a similar statement to (QNA), the importance of this exhibition, in which the works of Qatari and Arab artists are shown, and the audience is informed of their newness, noting that the Qatari fine movement has made leaps in art, and at the same time affirmed the importance of these exhibitions in showing the artistic abilities and creativity, and also benefiting from the expertise and diversity of art schools.

For his part, the Lebanese artist, Michel Ghanem, confirmed to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that his participation came through a sculpture, in which he embodied the face of Beirut through the face of a Lebanese woman who embraces her family.

This sculpture was sculpted from solid concrete to emphasize the solidity of his city.

As for the Qatari artist, Nouf Al-Abdullah, she explained in her statement to QNA that her participation in the exhibition came through electronic drawing, indicating that fine art has witnessed in recent years a remarkable development at the technical level, which made Qatari fine art able to keep pace with the requirements of the times and development that has become the world is witnessing, and in the recent period, great artistic talents have emerged.

In the same context, the Qatari artist, Aisha Al-Khater, confirmed, during a similar statement to (QNA), that this participation is considered her first in Qatar, indicating that her paintings sought to revive the folklore and old Qatari fashion and accessories, in order to transfer them abroad to introduce the world there to the heritage Qatari dress.
