Calling all art lovers! This August, Doha is hosting a brand-new Ceramic Residency Project.
Held from August 4 to September 7, 2025, this immersive program invites renowned Indonesian ceramic artist Francisca “Kika” to co-create with local artists and craftspeople, strengthening ties through clay, creativity, and cross-cultural dialogue.
Under the auspices of Qatar’s Years of Culture initiative, the residency is a continuation of the Qatar–Indonesia cultural exchange legacy. It is presented in partnership with Liwan Design Studios & Labs, a creative hub that champions artistic innovation rooted in tradition.
Kika’s participation marks an opportunity for Doha’s craft community to engage with her inclusive, hands-on approach to ceramics.
Over the residency period, Kika will collaborate closely with local ceramicists and artisans to co-develop a suite of ceramic works inspired by the shared legacies of Qatari and Indonesian craftsmanship.
A highlight of the residency is the series of Pottery Fun Classes open to the public every Friday—on August 8, 15, 22, 29, and September 5. Community members are invited to join Kika for hand-building and pottery wheel workshops, contributing to collective creations that reflect themes of connection and craft.
