-
Schools must provide everything students need for learning, within their budget.
-
Parents shouldn’t be asked to bring or buy any supplies, or contribute money for events, equipment, or activities.
-
No mandatory shopping sprees for uniforms or special outfits tied to school events.
Why This Move Matters
The ministry says this decision is all about fairness and equality among students, while keeping education stress-free for parents. If schools do need something extra, they’ll have to coordinate with the Financial Affairs Department first.
The Bigger Picture
By taking the financial load off parents, the government hopes to create a better learning environment where every student has the same chance to thrive—no matter what’s in their backpack at the start of the year.
