Youssef En-Nesyri Writes History in Arabic at the World Cup

Youssef En-Nesyri , the Moroccan national team striker, wrote history in Arabic at the World Cup, after his goal against Portugal.

Youssef En-Nesyri scored a goal that led the Moroccan national team to a 1-0 victory over Portugal, at Al-Thumama Stadium, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup.

The goal came in the 42nd minute when En-Nesyri hit a cross from Yahya Atiyatallah with his head into the net.

This goal became the first for the Arab teams in the quarterfinals of the World Cup after Morocco was the first Arab team to qualify for this stage.

En-Nesyri also became the historic scorer for the Moroccan national team in the World Cup, after raising his score to 3 goals.

The Sevilla striker scored a goal in the 2018 World Cup Russia in the group stage against Spain, in the match that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Before En-Nesyri scored two goals in the World Cup Qatar 2022 against Canada and Portugal.

En-Nesyri outperformed 3 players who scored two goals for the Moroccan national team in the World Cup, namely Abdel-Razzaq Khairy, and Salah El-Din Bassir, in addition to Abdel-Jalil Hadda.

On the other hand, Al-Nusairi became the top scorer for the Arab teams in the history of the World Cup, with 3 goals, along with the Saudis Sami Al-Jaber and Salem Al-Dosari, and the Tunisian Wehbe Al-Khazri.

En-Nesyri also became the first player from the Spanish club Sevilla to score a goal in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in history.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team was able to defeat Portugal in the quarter-final match of the Qatar World Cup 2022, which was hosted by Al-Thumama Stadium, 1-0, after a heroic match in which the players of the seasoned coach, Walid Regragui, presented a tactical match at the highest level in which they were able to stop the Portuguese key players at all, amidst the remarkable brilliance of goalkeeper Yassine Bono.

Morocco could have scored other goals after they had more than one opportunity through counterattacks, but the substitutes Zakaria Boukhalal and Walid Al-Shreideh missed it strangely.
