Qatar has decided to postpone its upcoming National Day celebrations in a show of solidarity with Gaza, which has been in the conflict between Israel and Hamas since October 7. The announcement was made through a video shared on X (Previously Twitter) by Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Khaled Al-Attiyah.

Al-Attiyah conveyed that a directive issued by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, mandated the postponement of this year's National Day celebrations, particularly in honor of the Armed Forces. This decision was driven by the grave situation in Gaza, characterized by what he described as "genocide and crimes against humanity."
