Hamad International Airport Ranks as the World's 9th Busiest in April

Qatar's Hamad International Airport (HIA) ranked the ninth busiest international airport in the world in April by seats, according to statistics from travel data provider Official Airline Guide.

This is a rise of four places from to the equivalent pre-pandemic month in 2019.

HIA recorded 2,147,221 seats in April 2023.

Six of the busiest international airports are in Europe, three are in Asia, and two are in the Middle East.

The Dubai International Airport topped the list with 4,484,082 seats in April of this year.

The rankings were based on scheduled airline capacity in April 2023, and it was calculated using international seats only.
