Filipino Fine Dining Takes Qatar Airways Flight with Chef Navarra

Filipino fine dining is set to reach new heights as Chef Jordy Navarra, owner of the Michelin-starred Toyo Eatery, joins Qatar Airways’ in-flight dining programme as a featured guest chef.

Under the collaboration, Navarra’s modern Filipino dishes will be served to first- and business-class passengers on Manila-to-Doha flights, bringing contemporary Philippine cuisine to the skies. The global airline highlighted the chef’s culinary approach on its website, recognising him for his “inventive, modern approach to beloved Filipino dishes.”

Navarra joins a lineup of acclaimed Asian chefs participating in the programme, including Garima Arora on Doha-to-India routes, Michihiro Haruta on Tokyo-to-Doha flights, and Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn on services from Thailand and Singapore to Doha.

Signature Dishes at 35,000 Feet

Passengers travelling on participating routes can expect a curated menu of premium dishes, including Navarra’s chilled scallops with mustard leaf and salted egg, alongside highlights such as tiger prawn by Chef Ton, traditional millet khichdi by Chef Garima, and white chocolate and vanilla mousse by Chef Michihiro.

The collaboration reflects Qatar Airways’ ongoing effort to elevate in-flight dining by partnering with world-renowned chefs and introducing regionally inspired gourmet experiences to its premium cabins.

Global Recognition for Toyo Eatery’s Chef

Chef Navarra’s inclusion in the airline’s culinary programme follows another major milestone in his career. In October 2025, he was honoured at The Best Chef Awards 2025, where he retained his Two Knives (World Class) distinction, reinforcing his reputation as one of Asia’s leading culinary innovators.

With this partnership, Qatar Airways continues to position itself as a leader in luxury air travel, while giving global travellers a taste of modern Filipino cuisine crafted by one of the Philippines’ most celebrated chefs.
