Outdoor work restricted during peak heat hours
All companies operating in construction, maintenance, and other open-air industries must follow the rule. The ban will stay in effect throughout the summer months, during which temperatures in Qatar can soar past 45°C.
Failure to comply with the regulation may result in penalties or legal action from authorities.
Awareness campaign highlights heat safety
Ahead of the implementation, the Ministry’s Occupational Safety and Health Department launched a campaign to raise awareness about heat stress, hydration, and safe work practices. The initiative has been ongoing throughout May to ensure both employers and workers are prepared for the seasonal change.
The Ministry is calling on all businesses to support the policy by adjusting shifts, providing shaded areas, and making water available on-site.
